Every thing that is of substance is built up of smaller pieces. In matter we call these blocks atoms. In building we call them bricks. In Literature, these block are called pericopes. The word pericope is one that can be applied to any segment of text at any length or with any start or stopping place. This means that a piece of text can be part of many pericopes on various levels.
